Tap: rhythm you can hear

Tap at The Oaks teaches rhythm, clarity of sound, and musicality through shuffles, flaps, and time steps that build into full combinations. Tap is part of the studio's program and has a published dress code, but it is not on the Fall 2026 schedule; it opens when a class fills. Join the interest list and we text you when a section is set. One hour a week is $52 a month.

A few good questions

What families ask.

When will tap be offered?

As soon as enough dancers in one age band sign the interest list; the list is public on this page.

Do we need tap shoes for a trial?

No — try the first tap class in clean sneakers, and buy tap shoes once your dancer decides to enroll.

Is tap good for a child who loves music?

It is the most musical class we teach; the feet are the instrument.
